Developing Your Child's Life Skills
Emotions play a crucial role in protecting us, motivating us, alerting us. It is helpful to try and move away from thinking of emotions as good/ bad feelings and to approach them with curiosity - “what is this emotion telling me or alerting me to?”

Thinking about the thoughts, feelings, behaviour cycle of emotions can help us reflect on, and understand what might be going on for our child or ourselves.

In this webinar recording, you will learn about important components that play a crucial role in a person's regulation, including:

  • the interplay between emotions and behaviour
  • the role of sensory regulation, how it is invariably linked to emotional regulation and what may help to calm a child's nervous system vs. what stimuli may add to sensory overwhelm
  • the underlying neuro-physiology of all these processes, explained in an accessible way
  • practical support strategies to understand and assist regulation challenges
  • the importance of co-regulation
